Getting my sh*t together

I just got a phone call from the firm where I applied for a job.
I’M IN !
This means 2 things:
- Bye Bye good life
- Hello steady paycheck
I’m going to be far more selective in the shoots I do. I’ve got 2 days a week for my free time. Every sunday and another day in the week which changes every week.
I’m going to try to do at least one good modelshoot every month, the rest of my spare days I’ll try to do some paid work with more unexperienced girls, so I earn some money back.
I’ll try to make some good money, and between this an 9 months I’ll buy a better camera, and I’m thinking about setting up a studio somewhere. Not sure how to do this properly.
This changes a lot for me. I’ve been having more than enough time to shoot during the past few months, but this jobs changes that fact.
Time to move from quantity to quality!
Getting Popular

After the last few shoots, I seem to be getting a whole lot of people who watch my pictures. As great as I think it is, it’s not perfect.
I get a lot of visitors, but they don’t leave anything behind. I would like to see what you think of my work, positive or negative, it doesn’t matter. I’m willing to learn and I understand that I still have much to learn, but if I don’t get feedback from my public, it’s hard to know where I stand with you guys.
Another thing that makes me laugh is the amount of people contacting me for a shoot. I used to have to go through a whole modelling site, only to get 2-3 positive replies. And now that I’m shooting more frequently, it seems as if the models find me. I’ve got a lot of “normal” girls contacting me, and seeing I was on the other side not too long ago, I always give them a chance to persuade me into a shoot. My time is getting more valuable lately due to personal matters, and I like to shoot with experienced girls who really are an addition to my portfolio. I do want to give those other girls a chance to be in front of my lens, but they have to have a good idea, or a real positive spirit( or just look outrageous ).
Bottomline:
A lot of request, not so much time.
I’m considering asking a small price for the shoots with unexperienced girls, just to earn back some of the serious capital I invested in all my gear..

I’m thinking about becoming a full-time photographer but if I want to make my living of of it, I’ll need more clients, thus I need advertisement. I need professional models as well as company’s, dj’s and other people who need photo’s to make their business run better. Make suggestions on making this site better, and you can always share your idea’s with me.
BTS Video + update

I have some friends with a mutual interest in creative stuff. I do it through pictures, they use moving pictures aka video to be creative.
I worked with them before at a small concert of Plane Vanilla.
I’m looking for models and MUA artist who would be intrested in making a behind the scenes video of a photoshoot. It will be in a studio, so it’s going to be nice and cozy and we don’t have to worry about the weather.

The Concept
Our plan is to make a movie to show the whole organisation behind a studioshoot; from make up and styling, to setting up the lights and directing the model. The theme of the shoot will be nice and clean, nothing to complicated, just a nice and clean shoot.
Example
This will all be posted online, and if this grows out to be a success, we’ll be doing a lot more, since I’ve got more interested people.
Live from Poland

I’m on vacation in Krakow and I’m enjoying the nice weather and culture. I’ve bought a fish eye lens and today I went to the historic centre of Krakow to test the lens. I’ll post some pictures online later today!

Last shoot today
aug 4th
I’m getting ready for the last shoot in 3 weeks. I’ve converted my room to a small studio and I’m expecting some models with tattoos. We’ll shoot some pin-up and lingerie pin-up pictures.
After the shoot, I can start post processing( expect 1 or 2 really nice edited pictures, seeing I learned some neat photoshop tricks) and then I’m getting packed for my vacation in Poland!
I’ll keep you guys posted during the shoot via twitter, and you can expect the results this evening around 8PM GMT+1 !
Approaching vacation

Vacation is almost a fact for me. I’ve got 2 more days at work, then a full week of shooting, and then I’m off to the beautiful Poland, where I’ve got 1 shoot planned.
I’ll be using my free time to get back in the green zone of my power level, and get some inspiration for new shoots. I’ll be buying a new lens, a fish eye. It’s a piece of glass I’ve wanted for a long time, and this one’s really good, and can only be bought in Poland.
I still like to get some ideas for future shoots, and if you know an experienced model, feel free to contact me.
More shoots

I’m halfway into my vacation job, and I’m really looking forward to August. I’ve got 3 more shoots planned in July, but August will be rudonculous. 2 weeks in Poland, a lot of shoots, a camping trip with the guys of GoT and a lot of fun!
I would like to hear from you guys what you would like to see more. Fashion, extreme MU, nude, or some other stuff. I’m still looking for experienced models, so if you know or are someone with a lot of experience, please contact me.

New triggers arrived!

Today the mail man surprised me with a small package from HK! It were the triggers I ordered 3 weeks ago, and I immediately got to test them out on a model!
The triggers are the new Yongnuo RF-602′s! I used to work with Nikon CLS, but seeing it was IR, it had its drawbacks! These triggers are super value for money, and I’ll be using them from now on for EVERY shoot! No exceptions!
